Adam Gase blames himself for New York Jets’ woeful Crime, says’that Is on me’

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Embattled New York Jets trainer Adam Gase blamed himself for his group with the NFL’s worst crime two years in a row, but he is not concerned about it being a blemish on his reputation.

“I don’t know if stress’ is the correct word,” Gase stated Wednesday. When there’s 1 facet of the ball I wish to be sure is correct, it could be the one. It hasn’t occurred, and that is on me”

Before last year, the Jets had ended last in total crime only once from the past 47 decades.

Regardless of a two-game winning series, the Jets (2-13) are anticipated to shoot Gase following Sunday’s season finale against the New England Patriots.

Gase contested a report from New York radio station WFAN he said previously was informed of his destiny, asserting the record” was news for me. Nobody has said that to me personally “

Jets CEO Christopher Johnson called Gase that a”brilliant offensive mind” last year September, but the Jets have fought profoundly for the majority of the year, averaging just 15 points along with 275 yards per game. They have yet to score over 28 points in a match.

It is really bad that Gase does not even bother taking a look at their offensive positions.

“There is no use in looking in it. I understand where we are at,” he explained. “It is bad. We had many matches where we had been so unproductive. I feel as if things are better in the past month or so. Before that, we had been inept — could not do anything.

“[What strikes ] is these games in which you’ve nothing — no lawns, no points, no third downs, red zone percent is crap. You’ve got more than just two or three of these, it is only going to be awful.”

The bad offensive numbers aren’t all of Gase’s fault; quarterback Sam Darnold has been inconsistent, the Jets don’t have any playmakers at running back, they’ve begun eight distinct offensive line mixtures and the receiving corps has fought injuries.

In Gase’s last season as the Miami Dolphins’ trainer (2018), they ended 31st in total offense — that led to the sudden nature of the Jets’ decision to employ him to replace Todd Bowles.

“That began about Week 6 final year,” he explained.

“I heard likely if I was 22 years old, Nick Saban told me, ‘Do your job till somebody tells you differently,'” additional Gase, who functioned as an undergraduate assistant for Saban at Michigan State. “That is what I’m likely to be centered on.

The Jets are down to 2 running backs, as newcomer La’Mical Perine tested positive for COVID-19.
