Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters was fined $12,500 from the league for unsportsmanlike behavior after looking to spit at Jarvis Landry since the Cleveland Browns wide receiver walked off in their match Monday night.
On Thursday, Landry is known as Peters”cowardly” for the action, declaring, “Wait till I flip around and do anything like this? It is like, do it on my head. Be a man about it in case you are going to do anything like this.”
Afterward Thursday, Peters issued a statement denying that he blatantly spit at Landry: “Where I come from, when you’ve got an issue with a person, you address it face-to-face, man-to-man. Anyone who thinks that I blatantly spit does not understand me plain and simple.”
Peters is appealing the fine, based on his representative.
On Friday, Ravens coach John Harbaugh stated he talked with Landry following the match and did not believe Peters led his spit at Landry.
If he was angry, he would not be doing this. What he did was that he spat in a way. It was not in anyone’s leadership, per se. You may tell this about the clip. That is where I stand with this.”
The Ravens wound up beating the Browns 47-42 in a few of the very best matches of the NFL season.
The 12,500 fine is truly significantly less than what it cost Peters to consume a beer in a game.
In December 2019, Peters was fined $14,037 for observing a pass split by leaping from the racks in Buffalo and ingesting a lover’s beer.
However, this is a small fiscal hit to Peters since the fine represents only 2.1percent of the weekly salary. Peters is earning $10 million this year, approximately $588,235 a week.
