NEW YORK — Interscope Geffen A&M — the house to Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Lady Gaga — was named the No. 1 album tag of the year by Billboard.
Billboard announced Thursday the tag, which can be called IGA, shirts its year-end graph for the first time since 2013.
Multi-platinum, chart-topping hit tunes introduced by IGA this season comprise DaBaby’s”Rockstar,” Eilish’s”Everything I Wanted,” Maroon 5′s”Memories” and Gaga’s”Rain .”
The exterior of becoming the year’s No. 1 total label — a name that moved into UMG’s Republic Records last season — IGA also principles as Billboard’s top Hot 100 tag with 118 tunes hitting the graph in the monitoring period of Nov. 23, 2019, during Nov. 14, 2020. IGA is also the best Billboard 200 tag with 68 records released during the monitoring period, 25 of which hit the Top 10. This season marks the first time that a tag group has spanned the three Billboard lists because 2007.
Last year’s leading Hot 100 tag was Republic Records, home to Ariana Grande, the Weeknd, and Taylor Swift. Warner Music Group’s Atlantic Records has been 2019’s best Billboard 200 tag. Acts signed to Atlantic comprise Bruno Mars, Lizzo, Cardi B, and Ed Sheeran.
