Music Enthusiast seriously hurt by Phase diver wins $2M settlement

ASBURY PARK, N.J. — A New Hampshire man who suffered severe spinal injuries after a period diver landed on his mind in a concert at New Jersey has reached a $2 million settlement with the show’s secretary.

Jason Kooken, 46, of Exeter, was wounded in an April 2017 punk music festival staged in Convention Hall in Asbury Park. His lawsuit asserted that safety working for the secretary, Asbury Audio, knew that period diving was occurring and did nothing to prevent it.

Based on Kooken’s attorneys, the point walked beyond safety staffers, increased on the point, pointed after which”corkscrewed his entire body” within the group’s lead singer. He landed Kooken, who could not leave his place close to the point due to mosh pits, his attorneys said.

Kooken underwent spinal surgery in a hospital in New Jersey and has since recovered from his injuries.
