Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a part of the Norwegian Parliament for its far-right Progress Party, stated Trump ought to be considered due to his job” to get a peace agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel which opens for potential peace in the Middle East.”
Israel and the United Arab Emirates agreed last month to a historical bargain normalizing connections and are scheduled to sign it in a White House ceremony on Sept. 15.
“Regardless of how Trump behaves at home and what he states in press conferences, he’s a chance at obtaining the Nobel Peace Prize,” Tybring-Gjedde, told The Associated Press.
He nominated Trump on Wednesday for its 2021 decoration, including that”Donald Trump matches the standards.”
To bring-Gjedde was among 2 Norwegian lawmakers who nominated Trump to the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018 because he attempted to bring reconciliation between North and South Korea. Any lawmaker serving at a domestic legislature can nominate somebody for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Former U.S. President Barack Obama has been awarded the trophy in 2009 just months in his first semester, a movement many felt was early. The Norwegian committee stated it honored Obama because of his devotion to”seek the peace and safety of a world without nuclear weapons”
This past year, Trump predicted he would win the Nobel Prize” for a lot of things if they handed out it rather, they do not.”
The Norwegian Nobel Committee does not publicly comment on nominees. Under its guidelines, the data must be kept secret for 50 decades.
“It’s now to trust that the Nobel Committee can think about what Trump has attained internationally and it doesn’t stumble in recognized bias against the U.S. President,” Tybring-Gjedde stated in a Facebook post.
But he stated he does not agree with Trump’s policies.
“I’m not a large Trump supporter,” he explained.
The practice of thinking about candidates and awarding the Nobel Peace Prize is completed in Norway, compared to the other Nobel Prizes, which are given in neighboring Sweden.
