Lanez is accused of shooting Megan Thee Stallion’s feet, hitting, after she abandoned an SUV in a struggle from the Hollywood Hills on July 12, according to a release.
The complaint says Lanez”inflicted great bodily harm” on Megan Thee Stallion.
A message delivered to Lanez’s representative wasn’t immediately returned.
If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of about 23 decades.
Lanez was arrested the night of the shooting released after posting a bond. Prosecutors are recommending that his bond be set at $1.1 million in his arraignment.
Megan Thee Stallion, whose actual name is Megan Pete, is recognized at the felony complaint just as Megan P.
She’d declined to mention Lanez as the individual who took her in social networking articles and movies on the topic for at least a month. But on Aug. 20, she stated in an Instagram movie that”Yes… Tory shot,” and encouraged him to”stop lying” regarding the episode.
She has discussed the shooting several frequently emotional Instagram videos, calling it”super frightening” and”the worst experience of my entire life “
She declined to inform the police that night she was taken, and the first reports were just a girl who had foot injuries consistent with cracked glass. She’s said that she had been too fearful that the situation could have escalated when she disclosed to authorities that there was gunfire.
Lanez hasn’t spoken publicly about the episode. On Sept. 24, he explained on his social networking reports he would break his conclusion that day, but that statement was a teaser for the launch of his fifth studio record,” Daystar.”
Lanez hasn’t attained the stardom which Megan that the Stallion has, but had a Billboard top 20 hits with”Luv” in 2016, also has had a successful run of mixtapes and major-label records because his career started in 2009.
At the time of this shooting, Megan Thee Stallion was a significant hip-hop celebrity after a successful year which saw her nominated for artist of the year in the MTV Video Music Awards. Since the shooting, her guest stint on the Cardi B tune”WAP” helped flip the trail — and audio into a massive cultural phenomenon, and she’s played over the season premiere of”Saturday Night Live.”
