OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Baltimore Ravens punter Sam Koch has been set on the reserve/COVID-19 set on Wednesday, which places his 15-year consecutive games streak in peril.
Koch was held from Wednesday’s practice following his latest COVID-19 test came back inconclusive, a source told ESPN. He hasn’t missed a match since being drafted in the sixth round by the Ravens in 2006, playing at a franchise-record 239 right games.
Additional testing will determine how long Koch is going to likely be outside.
The prospective reduction of Koch comes days ahead of the Ravens’ crucial season finale in the Cincinnati Bengals.
If Koch is outside, kicker Justin Tucker would probably replace him. Tucker averaged 40.5 yards on 155 punts in Texas.
Another problem is that Koch is the holder on extra points and field objectives. High-end Mark Andrews took a few snaps as the holder at training camp.
