LONDON — A British judge has denied bail to your nurse accused of murdering eight infants along with the attempted murder of 10 other babies at a hospital’s neonatal unit.
Lucy Let was charged with committing the crimes involving 2015 and 2016 while she had been working in the neonatal unit of the Countess of Chester Hospital in northwestern England.
She spoke only to confirm her name and remained passive throughout the hearing. Her attorney applied for bail, but estimate Steven Everett refused the program. He also prohibited the book of any information which could identify witnesses and the alleged victims.
The nurse had been detained for the third time since a police investigation of the infant deaths in the hospital’s neonatal unit began in 2017.
Detectives originally looked into the deaths of 15 infants between 2015 and 2016, and the stunt later expanded to include over a dozen”non-fatal collapses” in babies in precisely the same period.
Let was formerly detained in 2018 and 2019 but hadn’t been billed until this past week.
Authorities have described the situation as”highly intricate and very sensitive” and declined to provide details.
