Greig Street Bridge Inverness

Titel Greig Street Bridge Inverness
taken from the Old High Church graveyard. The building at the opposite (west) end of the bridge with the thimble-shaped dome is the former West Parish Church, now made into flats. The bridge - for pedestirans only - was constructed in a local foundry over a century ago. The river is the Ness, and the purpsoe of the bridge (built 1882) was to allow ther many workmen (who lived on the west side of the river) a direct route to their work - either in the foundry or the railway station, both beign on the east side in the town (now city) centre.
